Tencel Lyocell vs. Tencel Modal: Not the same thing

  1. For moisture-wicking performance: Go with Tencel Lyocell, typically 100%, or a high-lyocell blend.
  2. For exceptional softness at lower cost: Tencel Modal, blended with cotton (50/50 or 60/40 works well).
  3. For wrinkle-prone applications: Tencel lyocell blended with a small amount of polyester or a mechanical finish.
  4. Always ask for certification: Genuine Tencel fibers come with tracking and certifications. If your supplier can't provide them, be cautious.

The point isn't that Tencel is perfect—no fiber is. The point is understanding what it does well, what it doesn't, and making an informed decision based on your product's specific needs. A vendor who tells you that is worth 10 who tell you they can do everything.
