The Takeaway: Honest Boundaries Build Better Products

So where does that leave us? If you're considering Tencel for your next product line, here's what I'd suggest:

  • Verify the source. If sustainability matters, check for Lenzing certification or equivalent. Paperwork protects your claims.
  • Test the blend ratio. What works for sheets may fail for t-shirts. Run a trial, not just a sample. It's worth the extra week.
  • Ask about processing. Dyeing, finishing, and cutting all behave differently with Tencel. Get the guide before you commit.
